The sanctuary animals urgently need a new home!
Our lease will expire in August 2025, and we must vacate our current premises by the end of the year. Eight years ago, we founded this sanctuary with the mission to transform the lives of abused or abandoned animals. We secured a piece of rented land in Vilalba, Lugo, which was ideal for our beginnings. Today, we are proud to have saved over 400 lives. However, in early May, we were informed that our lease will not be renewed due to plans to sell the property at a high price. Moreover, the space has become insufficient for our needs. We now have until the end of 2025 to relocate, and we have chosen Asturias as our new destination.
Unfortunately, we currently lack sufficient funds to purchase adequate land for all our sanctuary animals. Our sanctuary is home to around 100 animals, including many large ones, thus requiring several hectares of land. We have secured a mortgage of €90,000, but the cost of suitable land ranges from €150,000 to €180,000—amounts far beyond our reach without additional help. Consequently, we are launching a fundraising campaign to raise €60,000. This amount is crucial for us to secure a new home for our animals by the year's end. Without these funds, our animals will be left homeless, and our life-saving work will be jeopardized. We have set up various fundraising methods to accommodate everyone's preferences. To maintain transparency, we will update the total funds raised each week on our official sanctuary website. We will also list every donation received (while keeping personal information confidential) to ensure that all contributions are accurately recorded and allocated.
